My Perfect 10

Sneak Peek...

My sister's wedding is coming up quickly and I thought it would be ok at this point to go ahead and post a few of the things I have been working on.  :)

My first project was to try to fix a pair of shoes my sister had dyed for a wedding she was in last January...they had been for the most part ruined when her shampoo bottle exploded in her suitcase while flying home.  O.o

So the plan was a fire orange cover up and this was the end result!

My next project was to make to canvas signs (these are 8x10) for in the rest rooms letting my sister's guests know they could help themselves to anything they needed in case of unexpected emergencies.

I also made two more canvases to display our great grandparents and our great-great grandparents wedding certificates. Those were 11x14 and I forgot to take photos...it was late!  :/ but they were similar in design and color to the one above but I left the flowers off so the certificate was the focal point. One of them was from 1882! Pretty cool!

Now during the past two weeks or so I have been sewing hearts...lots and lots of hearts! Blue and orange hearts into about 7 foot long garlands. I have no idea how many hearts there actually were in total but I think in the end there were almost 40 garlands...so LOTS of hearts! lol And sewing is NOT my strong crafting area. But I did it...I got them all done! :)

I did a few other little things too but again forgot to take photos...maybe at the wedding.

 

Happy Easter

This year we got together at my sister Stephanie's House for Easter. It was a pretty simple Easter because everyone is pretty much in wedding mode helping my other sister Jessica get ready. (Especially our Mom) We are in crunch time...less then three weeks left!

So it was just a BBQ and egg hunt for the kiddies!

Lion Country Safari

Our second day camping we went into the park...we had a great time but boy was it HOT!

The zebras were Jessica's favorite.

This guy was sleeping just like Jessica's cat Bently! lol Too funny!

The rinos were giants and walking right up to the cars...crazy!

Then inside the park there was even more to see...

I think you can see we had fun and got silly from the heat! It was a great trip and I am pretty sure everyone can't wait for the next camping trip.

One thing I learned...make a check list! lol We left A LOT of things at home (Like our towels...thank goodness Wal-mart was close!) and ran out of a few others. :/ But lesson learned and it all worked out.

Spring Break Camping

Home away from home!

Now this is what we call roughing it. LOL

For the next two days we will all be camping at Lion Country Safari! Can't wait to hear the lions roar in the morning!!! Seeing you in a few!  :)

Grassy Waters Nature Center

Rick and I found ourselves out and alone this afternoon and he suggested stopping by one of our favorite nature centers before we headed home. Sounded like a perfect plan!

Unfortunately since this was not a planned stop we did not have the camera bag with the BIG lens but at least we did have the camera.  :)

While Rick was setting up to take the shot of us I kept hearing this little guy in the trees above us...really wise we had the big lens! :/

Then on the way out EVERYONE who was in the park was lined up along the walk way and all you culd hear was the clicking of their cameras. Rick and I could not figure out what was going on...I mean the nature center was closed.

That was when we saw these guys!

Two baby Florida Bobcats with their momma watching from the bushes! And we don't have the BIG LENS!!! REALLY! >.< At least Rick was able to get this shot and it was really cool seeing them so close.

Then on our way to the car who do we see...one of Blake's drivers! Rick can not get away from work even while on vacation! Seems there was a car in need of a tow in the parking lot and of course Rick had to help push it out of the space...but that is one of the reasons I love him so. He is always thinking of others!

Toby's First Car!

Warning...Proud Parent Alert!  ;)

For the past  6-8 months Toby has been working full time for Pest A-Side doing outdoor pest control. After the first two months or so he was doing so well the owner bought a brand new company truck for Toby to use completely rigged with spray tank, tool box, everything! 

Well Toby saved just about every penny he made so he could buy...

Now he calls Rick almost daily asking car questions. lol It's really nice he has someone to call, and I don't think Rick minds too much...after all now he is not the only guy in the house! lol

 

Happy 1st Birthday Maddox!

I can't believe a year has gone by and Maddox is one already! I have been busy helping my sister get ready for his Dr. Seuss themed party, which could not have fallen at a better time. Today is actually Dr. Seuss' real birthday! As usual I have waited until the last minute to get things done...I so have to stop doing that!  :/

This was one of the bigger projects I have been working on and it was really worth it! Every time Maddox got behind it he started to laugh so hard, it was great! I used our Sony projector to trace the image of Thing 1 and Thing 2 onto half of a vinyl tablecloth and then just worked on painting them! The other half of the tablecloth is being saved for Gavin's Batman & Joker Birthday this summer! I should really start that one NOW!

As always everyone had a great time and I got some extra special news BUT I can't share it just yet...soon though very soon! :)

Now onto the next BIG project...my sister Jessica's wedding! It will be here before we all know it!

Romeo and Juliet

This weekend we lucked out...Rick actually had the weekend off and we were able to get tickets to take every to see the Opera Romeo and Juliet at the Kravis Center.

It was a really neat production geared more for families. It was a shorter version and they showed how the scenes were changed instead of closing the curtain.

 I think it was a really neat experiance for Ava and Sheri to see the performance in French but I am not too sure they paid attention to the English translation overhead...I am pertty sure they just watched! lol 

They even got to see the performers after the opera for photos and autographs which was really neat!

I think everyone enjoyed the showed...I know Rick and I did and we found another show we want to go see in May!

 

The Kitchen Table

Rick and I like all the same things...same movies, same TV shows, same music, same food. It's sometimes a little scary how many things we have in common.

That being said sometimes it is also really easy to get stuck doing the same things...cooking the same meals and going to the same resturants. We have tried a few new places but they usually don't turn out very well so we go back to our comfortable favorties.

BUT then there is that adventurous side that likes to find new and different things to do...maybe just not with food. lol

This is where Buca di Beppo comes in...I figure you really can't go wrong with Italian food which we both enjoy. I had been to this resturant before but for a big party but I at least new the food was good and I knew about "The Kitchen Table!"

With just a few days prior reservation you can book The Kitchen Table for dinner. And just like it sounds the table is in the kitchen! Right smack in the center of it all and OMG did it smell amazing in there!

It was really one of the Best dinners out we have been on but then we have fun everywhere we go!

On thing that meant a lot to me...ass oon as our waitress came over to us before she even asked us anything she said, "You two are so cute, you look so happy and in love!" I just found it nice that someone who didn't even know us saw that...it was just nice to hear.

Ok I'm done being mushy...tonight anyway. lol

Seriously look up Buca di Beppo in your area if you want a great dinner and a fun experience eating at The Kitchen Table!

 

My AMAZING Craft Desk

So I mentioned yesterday how Rick spent the day building me the MOST AMAZING craft desk EVER for my birthday! Well he is with my awesome desk!!!

Here is Rick during the installation of the desk! So exciting!!!  :D

And here it is "ALMOST" completed and already covered in projects. I say almost because the top still needs to be stained  but we kind of rain out of time ths weekend so that will get done later on. But no matter...isn't it FABULOUS!!!!

I have the BEST man in the whole world!

There is going to be so much craftiness going on in here and just in time with all the birthdays and the wedding coming up. I just don't know what to work on first! :D
