This was not my weekend to be driving the car! :( Friday night on my way back from Vero Beach as I got off I-95 the car just died. I mean ALL the lights on the dash came on, there was NO power, and I was at a dead stop in the middle of the intersection with four kids in the car...can you say panic! Thank goodness I was only minutes from home and Rick was already off work. My hero rushed right to us and fixed everything in minutes and we were all home safe and sound in no time! It is really nice to have someone who worried about us and wanted to come and help even after he worked all day helping others!
So the rest of the weekend went great, nice and relaxing...couldn't have been better!
UNTIL...today when I am driving back to Vero Beach. First I thought I hit something, then I thought something in the back end of the car exploded or fell out. That's when I saw all the rubber flying all over the highway!
I thought this only happened to the BIG trailer trucks not passenger cars!!! This was the scariest thing I have ever driven though. It sounded like an explosion and the whole back end of the car was going crazy. I am surprised I didn't lose control of the car, it was vibrating so hard as the tire was coming a part. All I could see in the rear view mirror was the girls and then rubber flying up and all I could do was hold on to the steering wheel and try to get to the side of the road...because of course I was in the fast line on the far left. All I could think about was keeping the kids safe, that was all that mattered.
Then I had to make that call again...but this time we were not so close to home. We were actually kind of in the middle of nowhere. You know that stretch of highway where there is NOTHING to even look at...not even a cow! Rick called the Road Rangers and told them where we were and I tried AAA, since we were WAY out of the way for Rick to help. As you can see Road Rangers got to us first. Even so far from us and home Rick comes to the rescue.
For some reason when it comes to stuff like this I am not so good. Car stuff makes me panic, I guess because I really have no idea what to do. I mean I know where the gas goes and that is pretty much it. Blood and guts I'm good, I can handle that but the car breaks down and I am just about ready to cry.
The girls were very entertained watching this armadillo while we waited for the tire to be changed. Sheri wanted to bring him home but after the exploding tire I think I had enough excitement for one afternoon!
One more look at my handy work...there is just nothing left. I guess I know what Santa is bringing me this year! :/
If you are doing and holiday traveling this week please stay safe!
So I think you take that to Harvey's and let him hang that on the wall to replace the rotors!!
