We also stopped by Bender's Farmers Market in west Boynton last weekend. We were hoping to pick strawberries with the kids so we could make fresh crepes. But with all this crazy cold weather they said the temps have not been warm enough for the strawberries. So there was only tomatoes, peppers, and sunflowers to pick.
As you can see we now have LOTS of tomatoes! Good thing Rick can also make fresh salsa which all the kids like. I think we'll be eating tomatoes with every meal for the next week. That's ok we all had a great day!
In their little shop we bought a few other things...homemade bread, and a bunch of other fresh veggies grown right there. But the BEST was their corn on the cob. The owner had us try some right there in the market...I had never had raw corn before. It was so sweet it did not need to be cooked with salt or butter! I think that would have ruined it! We bought a bunch of that too. I know we'll be going back to pick more veggies with the kids and shop in the farmers market! Hopefully the strawberries will be ready next time.
