One of the best things about Rick's job is all the neat things he finds for us to do while he is out driving around. Last weekend while he was driving to a call he spotted what looked to be some kind of "farmer's market" right in the middle of a neighborhood just 15 minutes from our house.
So today we got up early to check it out and boy are we lucky we did! Today was their last day open for the summer...talk about perfect timing. This place was really cool! It was a tiny little farm right in the middle of Boynton Beach. They had hens and roosters, cows and goats, geese, and even a turkey! Of course we got photos! ;)
The rooster and hens are just walking around all over the place.
Tom the turkey was in the pen with the cows...do you think he knows Thanksgiving is right around the corner?
I even got to feed the cows some apple...that was pretty cool!
The goats had their own fenched in area but you could go in and feed them too.
And here is the BIG hen house.
Of course we could not leave empty handed! We enjoyed farm fresh eggs and honey for breakfast once we got back home...it was so good!
They also sold the cow and goat milk, butter, and yogurt. We will be going back to visit them at the Delray Green Market now that the little farm is closed for summer. I am so glad we didn't miss out on this! Check out their website...Heritage Hen Farm
Now it's time to get ready for Rick's birthday dinner! Have a great weekend!
How fun! I can't even remember the last time I was at a farm. Wayyy too long ago.
